Veteran broadcaster and the General Manager, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Katsina State, Ayinde Soaga, has tested positive to coronavirus.

His brother, Kehinde Soaga, announced this on behalf of the family.

A statement he signed disclosed that Soaga voluntarily called for a test conducted by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

He said the ace broadcaster was in high spirits and expressed hope that he would pull through.

The family expressed appreciation for everyone that has contacted and reached out to show support.

The statement confirmed that Soaga has not been bedridden since his results returned.

“Aware that the COVID19 is not a death sentence and belief in God for healing, we seek your prayers for speedy and divine healing which Almighty Allah gives”, it read.

“We appreciate the National Secretariat of NUJ, Katsina State & the FCT Councils of the Union as well as many other individuals and groups too numerous to mention for their quick intervention and prayers.

“We thank you all for your deep concern and remarkable show of love for Alhaj Ayinde Soaga. He shall overcome in the mighty name of Allah.”
