Benue governor, Ortom confirms new COVID-19 case in state

The Benue State government has confirmed a new case of COVID-19.

Addressing a press conference yesterday in Makurdi, the state capital, Governor Samuel Ortom said the patient is a returnee from Kano.

The governor disclosed that the victim, Edward Manger, works with the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

According to Ortom, Manger entered the state towards the end of April.

The governor said the victim has been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, for treatment.

Ortom urged those who made contact with the victim to immediately go into isolation.

Benue State now has two COVID-19 cases, following Ortom’s confirmation.

The first case was a female returnee from the United Kingdom, UK, who is currently at the National Hospital Abuja.
