Two Borno State residents declared missing after testing positive for coronavirus have been found.
The state’s Commissioner for Information, Babakura Abba Jato, confirmed this on Monday during the COVID-19 Response Team daily briefing at the Government House in Maiduguri.
Jato assured that all patients are now at the Isolation Centre.
He recalled that Abbas Kaka Hassan, a 24-year-old male, was traced to Gwange II, Maiduguri.
A combined health surveillance and investigation team, backed by a police escort, located his family house.
The other patient, Hauwa Mohammed, a 42-year-old female has also been found.
“She turned herself in, in a very responsible manner, this is highly commendable,” Jato said.
Commissioner of Health, Salisu Kwayabura, stated that even though Hauwa was in self-isolation since her sample was collected, officials have been deployed to identify persons who may have had contacts with her and Abbas.
