BREAKING: 595 new cases of COVID-19 push Nigeria’s total to 33,153; death toll now 744

Nigeria on Monday night recorded 595 fresh COVID-19 cases.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which confirmed this on its Twitter handle, said the fresh cases were recorded in 19 states of the federation and Abuja.

It added that four persons died from complications resulting from the virus on Monday.

Consequently, the number of COVID-19 fatalities increased from 740 to 744.

Also, the total number of confirmed cases increased to 33,153.

Meanwhile, 13,671 patients had been discharged from various isolation facilities across the country as at Monday night.

The breakdown of the figure on a state-by-state basis revealed the following: Lagos (156), Oyo (141), FCT (99), Edo (47), Kaduna (27), Ondo (22), Rivers (20), Osun (17), Imo (13), Plateau (10) and, Nasarawa (8).

Others are – Anambra (8), Kano (5), Benue (5), Borno (5), Ogun (4), Taraba (3), Gombe (3), Kebbi (1) and, Cross River (1).

The NCDC said: “33,153 cases of #COVID-19 in Nigeria.

“Discharged: 13,671 AND Deaths: 744.”
