He tweeted: “The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling party, the APC has just commenced at the State House, Abuja. President Buhari, VP Osinbajo, Governors and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party and other members of the NEC are in attendance.”

The APC has been embroiled in an intractable leadership crisis leading to the emergence of different members of the party’s National Working Committee laying claims to the position of acting National Chairman of the party.

Ripples Nigeria reported that the 17 pro-Oshiomhole members of the NWC said in a statement on Wednesday evening that they would not be attending the meeting.
