President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday attended a meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling party, the APC called by a faction led by Victor Giadom at the State House, Abuja.
According to a tweet by Buhari’s aide on new media, Ahmad Bashir, President Buhari, VP Yemi Osinbajo, Governors and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party and other members of the NEC were in attendance.

The much anticipated National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is underway at the State House, Abuja.
The meeting was convened by the factional acting National Chairman of the APC, Victor Giadom, who received the endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Personal Assistant to President Buhari, Bashir Ahmed, revealed in a tweet on his Twitter handle on Thursday.

He tweeted: “The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling party, the APC has just commenced at the State House, Abuja. President Buhari, VP Osinbajo, Governors and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party and other members of the NEC are in attendance.”
The APC has been embroiled in an intractable leadership crisis leading to the emergence of different members of the party’s National Working Committee laying claims to the position of acting National Chairman of the party.
Ripples Nigeria reported that the 17 pro-Oshiomhole members of the NWC said in a statement on Wednesday evening that they would not be attending the meeting.
