COVID-19: Delta SSG recovers, discharged after testing negative for deadly virus

The Delta State government has announced the discharge of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Chiedu Ebie, from the Isolation Centre in Asaba after recovering from the deadly COVID-19 disease.

This was revealed in a statement on Sunday issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, who added that the discharge of Ebie, who had been at the COVID-19 isolation centre for 21 days, brought the number of discharged cases in the state to 583.

Ifeajika also informed in the statement that Delta had recorded 1,359 confirmed cases of the virus, with 745 of them active, while 31 deaths had been recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic.

“We thank Deltans and other Nigerians who had prayed for Ebie and had continued to pray for other patients of the virus, including the members of the First Family of the state.
