COVID-19: Jigawa records one death, extends lockdown to four LGAs

Jigawa State has confirmed the death of one person who tested positive for COVID-19 in the State.

Chairman COVID-19 Task Force in the State, Dr. Abba Zakari disclosed this while briefing newsmen, Wednesday night.

He said the State had also recorded five new cases in four more local government areas.

They include Dutse in the State capital, Gwaram, Auyo and Miga local governments areas.

Abba explained that the state had so far recorded nine coronavirus pandemic cases across the State.

He noted that the State was also waiting for more blood samples.

Meanwhile, Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has ordered for the lockdown of the affected four local government areas for one week, with effect from midnight of Friday.

DAILY POST had reported that Jigawa State had earlier recorded two new cases and had ordered for lockdown of three local government areas to commence Thursday, 30th April, 2020, by midnight.
