COVID-19: Nasarawa deports 788 almajiris

Nasarawa State government has repatriated 788 almajiris to their various home States.

The Nasarawa State Governor, Mr Andullahi Sule, announced this while addressing the first batch of the almajiris from the southern zone of the State on Sunday.

The Governor stated that the move became necessary for their parents to take proper care of them.

According to him, it was decided by Northern governors to curb the spread of coronavirus in the region.

“The plan to repatriate the almajiris is of good intention and not in bad motive.

“This agreement was reached when the northern governors met recently in Abuja, COVID-19 is fast racking the movement.

“Those states included are Jigawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Gombe, and Taraba States,” he noted.
