COVID-19: Pastor Adewale Giwa begs Gov. Akeredolu to open churches

The Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa on Monday advised the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu to allow churches to reopen in the state.

Giwa said the churches would abide by precautionary measures put in place to combat the coronavirus disease.

In a statement signed and forwarded to DAILY POST, Giwa advised Akeredolu to learn from Ebonyi State and other few states that have lifted the ban on religious services.

The pastor said it was glaring that humans could not find solutions to the pandemic, stressing that, “Only God can put an end to the global crisis.”

He said: “I will advise governor Akeredolu to allow the church to reopen with precautionary measures put in place already.

“It is time for all of us to run into the house of God and worship Him because it is now clear that humans don’t have the answer to this epidemic.

“The government has advised us of the need to protect ourselves by using masks and others.

“Our members are already aware of this, and we will ensure that they follow the procedures of the government.

“I am glad that the governor is a Christian who understands that God has the solution to every problem.

“Ghana has identified this also, and that is why it lifted the ban on religious services.”
