The Bauchi State Police Command has announced that, following the presidential directive on new measures to curtail the spread of COVID-19 across the country, the state has imposed a curfew.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar, who stated this on Monday, said that the command in collaboration with sister security agencies in the state will commence full enforcement of the directive effective from Monday, May 4, 2020.
While calling on the general public to strictly adhere to the following restriction orders until further notice, the PPRO also said that the curfew will begin from 8:00pm to 6:00am daily across the state, which means all movements are prohibited during this period except for essential services.
“There is a ban of non-essential movement in and out of the state.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Phillip S. Maku, appeals for cooperation of the members of the public in this regard as he warns officers and men deployed for this operation to ensure observance of human rights of the citizens and strictly adhere to the Force rules of engagement in the discharge of their duties.”
