COVID-19: Yobe State lawmaker tests positive

A member of the Yobe State House of Assembly representing Nguru Central Constituency, Lawan Nguru, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Nguru, who is the only PDP opposition member of the assembly, announced this on Wednesday.

In a statement released in Damaturu, the lawmaker confirmed he has also gone into isolation on the instruction of health personnel.

Nguru praised the efforts of the Yobe State Government, in handling the spread of the pandemic.

He also advised the people of the state, to follow all advice from medical personnel, in other to stop the spread of the virus.

“Presently, I am in isolation centre and recuperating in a very stable condition waiting for further directives from health officers.

“In addition, I salute the gesture shown to us by Yobe State Government in up keeping the victims and in controlling the spread of the virus in the state,” Nguru said.
