The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, has confirmed seven new cases of coronavirus in Abuja while also announcing the death of three persons.
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control on Saturday confirmed 239 new cases of coronavirus disease in the country.
Out of the 239 new cases confirmed, seven were recorded in the capital territory.
Confirming the new cases, the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammed Musa Bello in a tweet on Sunday also announced that another 39 patients have been discharged after showing full recovery.
The tweet reads, “ Dear FCT residents, I am happy to announce the successful treatment & discharge of additional 39 COVID-19 patients in the FCT after their subsequent tests returned negative.
“Total number of discharged patients in the Territory now is 85.
“Sadly, we recorded 3 more deaths while 7 new cases have been confirmed as at May 9, 2020.
“Total number of confirmed cases: 343.
“Total number of active cases: 250.
“Residents are urged to take preventive measures seriously.”
