Plane evacuating 160 stranded Nigerians from US arrives Abuja

A plane carrying some Nigerians who were stranded in the United States following the outbreak of coronavirus has landed in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria.

DAILY POST had reported that another batch of 160 Nigerians including eight infants, stranded in the United States due to the coronavirus pandemic were on their way to Abuja.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, had disclosed this in a tweet via his Twitter account.

The plane, however, arrived the Abuja airport at about 11 am on Sunday, hours after departing New York.

Five luxury buses and a coaster bus had earlier been stationed at the airport to move the returnees to isolation centers.

Recall that the Federal Government announced that it had commenced the evacuation of hundreds of stranded Nigerians willing to return home from various countries.
