A fresh shake up is said to have hit the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with about 20 zonal chiefs and heads of sections said to have been redeployed to the police force.
The development, it was learnt, was part of the Nigerian government’s ongoing efforts to overhaul the agency.
According to an anonymous source, the redeployment may affect of the affect high-profile cases being handled by the top officers, as investigation and trial of suspects in such cases might have to start afresh.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari recently suspended 11 top officials of the EFCC following the ongoing corruption probe of the suspended Acting Chairman of the anti-graft agency, Ibrahim Magu.
Meanwhile, the Justice Ayo Salami-led Presidential Investigation Committee on the activities of EFCC, has adjourned sitting, to allow for Salah celebration, till August 4.
The panel announced adjournment of its sitting on Wednesday.
