Stop lamenting, you’re ‘the founder of corruption in Nigeria’, APC tells PDP

The All Progressives Congress (APC) told Nigerians on Sunday nobody was above the law under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

The party stated this in a statement titled:

“PDP on corruption: Nobody is above the law in APC’s Government,” and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena.

The APC warned Nigerians that the current administration would not condone any form of corrupt practices, saying the government was fully committed to the fight against graft.

The party was reacting to a statement credited to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the magnitude of corruption perpetrated by President Buhari’s administration.

The party had in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, blamed the poverty and growing insecurity in Nigeria on the alleged unbridled looting and extortion by a cabal around President Buhari and the APC.

However, the ruling party insisted that the presidency had given assurances that there was no hiding place for any corrupt government official in the current administration.

The APC described the PDP as “an unrepentant corrupt” party and urged Nigerians to ignore any statement that emanated from its officials.

Nabena said: “The former ruling party PDP does not have what it takes to lament about alleged corrupt practices in the present administration of APC. It is on the record that the PDP is the founder of corruption in Nigeria, to the extent that the evil practices were made official way of life during its 16 wasteful years.

“In APC’s government, nobody is above the law. The fact that the suspended acting chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, is being investigated should send a signal to all those who think and have blackmailed the government’s anti-corruption battle.”
