Three Edo commissioners resign, dump Obaseki for Ize-Iyamu

Three Edo State commissioners have dumped Governor Godwin Obaseki and declared their support for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki, who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the state governorship election slated to hold on September 19, has watched some of his appointees resign their positions ahead of the election.

The three commissioners who have joined the list of Obaseki’s appointees dumping him to team up with his major rival in the coming poll are Prince Emmanuel Odigie, Alhaji Aiwanu Oshiomhole and Osamwonyi Atu.

The trio are the three Commissioners in the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Area Development Commission (EDOSOGPADEC).

It was learnt that one of Obaseki’s aides, Bright Njor, also resigned his position.

The four of them, it was further learnt, have declared their support for Ize-Iyamu to ensure he defeats Obaseki in the September 19 poll.
